Home Remedies for Piles

Are you witnessing a kind of bleeding while passing stool? If yes, then do not ignore it, as this might be the symptom of piles (haemorrhoids). The swellings that erupt around the anus and anal canal lead to the formation of piles. They appear at the opening, called the anus at the lower part of the anal canal, from where the faeces generally pass. To put it in simple terms, these eruptions appear at the anal canal’s lining, which has a network of blood vessels. When these blood vessels become wide, they tend to overlap with the tissue, forming more swelling known as piles.

With a cotton swab apply any one of the following preparations to anal region before going to bed:

  • Half-a-teaspoon mustard powder with a tablespoon of honey.
  • Half-a-teaspoon of turmeric with a tablespoon of mustard oil, papaya juice, Aloe vera gel or juice.
  • Peel a clove of garlic and insert it in the rectum (note: not to be used in case of bleeding piles). Put in a fresh clove at bed-time, pushing it up high, to make sure it stays in overnight.
